Aussie pop starlet Samantha Jade will head down to the disco this April, with the release of a new disco covers set, ‘Best Of My Love’.
The new project was confirmed today, at the same time as Sammi dropped the first grat track from the project, a cover of The Emotions’ classic from 1977.
But just like the upcoming project from Sony stablemate Dami Im announced last week, the album will contain a couple of original pieces; ‘Roller Skates’ (penned by UK outfit Knoxa) and ‘Let Me Love You’, written by long time SJ collaborators DNA.
Naturally, Sammi will have plenty of opportunity to promote the new album during Mardi Gras season in Sydney (she’s set to close Mardi Gras 2018 proceedings with a performance at Laneway on March 04).
“‘Best Of My Love’ was such a fun record to make,” Samantha enthuses. “I hope it reignites the passion for all disco lovers and helps tell the story of this exciting genre to a whole new audience that may not have experienced the lifestyle first-hand.
“It’s such an honour to pay tribute to some of the most iconic divas such as Donna Summer, Cher and Diana Ross. I’ve always been inspired by disco, soul funk and dance, particularly the female voices that emerged during this time.”
‘Best Of My Love’ will be released on Friday April 20.
