Not great news for fans of US pop starlet Kesha this morning, with confirmation that her upcoming Australian tour has been postponed.
The tour had been scheduled to kick off on Sunday March 25 with her gig at Eatons Hill Hotel in Brisbane, but all five dates are now off the table.
The postponement is due to an injury she sustained to her knee during a recent concert in Dubai.
That injury (an ACL tear in her knee) will require surgery – surgery she’ll undergo today.
“It’s my biggest joy in life to share my music with my fans all over the world, but I have to follow my doctors orders and undergo surgery so I can get ready to give it my all on my summer tour and beyond,” Kesha said in a statement.
“Moving these dates is making me sick with sadness, but I tried to will this injury away and unfortunately it didn’t work. I love you all and I’ll work every single day, as hard as I can, to recover and get back on stage as soon as possible. I’m so sorry and sending love always.”
New dates will be announced soon and fans are being encouraged to hold onto their tickets.
Her performance at Bluesfest in Byron Bay, however, cannot be rescheduled.
