With her new album ‘I Hear A Song’ out today, Brad sits down for a one-on-one chat with the incredible Dami Im.
After winning ‘The X Factor’ in 2013, Dami cemented herself as a superstar with the hit singles ‘Alive’, ‘Gladiator’ and ‘Super Love’.
Then in 2016, she had the honour of representing Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest, placing second with her phenomenal performance of ‘Sound Of Silence’.
She finished off last year being crowned our very first auspOp Artist Of The Year, thanks to a public vote from you!
Now, in 2018, Dami’s back again with her latest album; a jazz-style set featuring covers of songs from female storytellers such as Norah Jones, Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald.
Also featured are two original songs – the title track and ‘Like A Cello’, which has been produced by ‘Heaven Knows’ singer Rick Price.
For Dami fans, there’s a lot to love in our 17 minute interview below. We gift Dami with her auspOp Artist Of The Year trophy (naturally she was very thankful for the support of her Dami Army).
She talks about the whirlwind of Eurovision and the advice Jessica Mauboy asked for from her.
We get an understanding of her upbringing with music, the direction her original songs might take and her love of Nashville… and we also played a fun game at the end!
Brad decided to play a game called ‘I Hear A Song’. Using piano and instrumental samples, Dami had to guess the name of each of the popular songs.
We’re lucky enough to hear Dami belt out ‘Super Love’, ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ and the spectacular ‘Sound Of Silence’. If you enjoyed this video please make sure to like and comment on it (hope you enjoy!).
