It’s a big morning for fans of Missy Higgins; confirmation of her new album, the video for her latest single and a national tour!
First and foremost, that new album… The singer’s fifth studio record is called ‘Solastalgia’. It’s out on May 04 and naturally, it features the recently-released lead single ‘Futon Couch’.
But it also features a range of issues that are occupying Missy’s thought processes since becoming a mother.
“When I was a teenager I was writing songs about early heartbreaks and other stuff I was experiencing but my life’s very different now,” she explains. “I got married. We had a baby. My priorities have changed and my thoughts are gravitating towards different things like, well, the end of the world!”
Accompanying today’s announcement is the reveal of the music video for ‘Futon Couch’.
“I never thought I’d catch myself doing choreographed dancing in one of my film clips but if there’s any song I’ll ever do it for, it’s ‘Futon Couch’,” Missy teases.
But wait… there’s more. Missy will also hit the road in support of the new record from early May.
