It might have been seven long years between drinks, but Snow Patrol are back, armed with their seventh studio album ‘Wildness’.
The boys achieved great success in the mid 2000s down under; their 2006 album ‘Eyes Open’ hitting number one here in Australia, while their follow-up (2008’s ‘A Hundred Million Suns’) peaked at No.6.
Frontman Gary Lightbody explains where the concept of ‘Wildness’ came from.
“There are many types of wildness, but I think it can be distilled into two: the wildness of the modern age, all it’s confusion, illogic and alienation and a more ancient wildness,” he explains.
“Something primal, alive and beautiful that speaks to our true connectivity, our passion, our love, our communion with nature and each other.
“This is the kind of wildness the album is centered around. The loss of it. Trying to reconnect with it. To remember it.”
The new long player will be released in ten track standard and 15 track deluxe editions; the latter featuring alternate versions of five of the original album tracks.
Both will land at retailers everywhere on Friday May 25.
