Samantha Jade today releases her new covers album ‘Best Of My Love’ – a sparkly homage to disco featuring classic hits such ‘Dancing Queen’, ‘I Will Survive’ and ‘How Deep Is Your Love’.
Join Brad as he sits down for a one on one interview with one of Australia’s shiniest pop stars in the video below.
At the age of 16, Samantha Jade signed to Britney Spears’ record label Jive and featured on the 2006 soundtrack for ‘Step Up’.
After a rough few years, she re-emerged in 2012 as the winner of ‘The X Factor’ and scored a triple platinum No.1 hit with her winner’s single ‘What You’ve Done To Me’.
Like a rocket to the sun, the hits kept on coming with ‘Firestarter’, ‘Soldier’, ‘Sweet Talk’ and ‘Always’.
With an impressive back catalogue of originals under her belt, we were shocked to see Sammi announce a covers album.
But she tells us the reasons behind her decision in the interview.
She also chats about the meaning behind her DNA-penned original on the album ‘Let Me Love You’, working with David Guetta, getting to meet Channing Tatum and much, much more.
As always, we like to play a game at the end of the interview, so we test Sammi’s knowledge of disco with questions like, ‘Which ABBA track won Eurovision in 1974?’, ‘What is the opening line to the Earth Wind and Fire track ‘September’?’, ‘What happened on what is known as ‘the day that disco died’?’.
