We’re off to Bulgaria this morning to check out whether they’ve got what it takes to triumph at Eurovision 2018.
This year marks only the 12th occasion that the Bulgarians have been part of the Eurovision competition.
And it has to be said that the draw hasn’t been especially kind to them this year.
They’ll perform as part of the first semi final on May 08, but they’re slap bang in the middle of the pack, which will make it tough to stand out.
But stand out they have in the past two years, placing fourth in 2016 and second in 2017. Clearly they know what they’re doing.
Equinox is the five piece band who are tasked with bringing home the goods. Four of the members have prior experience with TV singing competitions (member Vladimir was a backing vocalist for last year’s Bulgarian runner-up Kristian Kostov).
‘Bones’ is their song. It’s a big, dramatic, stirring mid-tempo pop number that blends the quintet’s voices beautifully and possesses undeniable commercial appeal.
Whether it’s got enough to make it to the top five this year, however, remains to be seen.
We like, however. Neuf points.
