In the latest of in our Countdown To Eurovision 2018 series, we’re here to check out what Norway is serving up.
The Norwegians will be kicking off the second of the semi finals this year and they’ve got a familiar name returning to the Eurovision stage to help them over the line.
You may remember Alexander Rybak from the 2009 edition of the competition in Russia; his single ‘Fairytale’ topped the Eurovision polling and saw the contest move to Oslo in 2010.
Credit where it’s due, the Norwegians have had a relatively good run as part of Eurovision, though a last place finish in 2012 is probably best forgotten. And we’ll not make mention of 2016, when they failed to progress beyond the semi finals.
So Alexander has form, he has experience, he has a new single (aptly titled ‘That’s How You Write A Song’). Will he have the support of the Eurovision faithful the second time around?
It’s a bit cheesy, if we’re to be honest. Though it’s catchy, fresh and ‘up’. It’s sure to get the Eurovision audiences on their feet for the kick-off of semi two.
Huit points from us.
