In the current political climate, it’ll be interesting to see how Russia fares in the voting at Eurovision 2018.
Naturally, they’ll continue to benefit from plenty of bloc voting from some of the former Soviet Union nations (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Latvia, Moldova etc).
And they’ll be bouncing back into the competition this year after being forced to sit things out last year; their entrant Yuliya Samoylova banned from entering host nation Ukraine.
Yuliya also gets her time to shine, performing the single ‘I Won’t Break’ in the second semi final.
The track’s a pretty straight-forward mid-tempo pop number with inspirational lyrics about beating the odds and overcoming adversity, something Yuliya knows a lot about.
Now, according to current odds, Russia might not even make it through to the Grand Final on May 12.
How to get more votes… 🤔
Six points.
