The poor old United Kingdom can’t take a trick at the Eurovision Song Contest and with Brexit impending, 2018 probably won’t be their year either.
See, the competition has struggled in previous years with the dreaded bloc voting which has seen the UK finishing down towards the bottom of the order.
And though Eurovision organisers have implemented the 50/50 voting system, a place down towards the bottom is still highly likely to repeat in 2018.
It’s a shame, because SuRie’s single ‘Storm’ isn’t a bad pop track at all. We’d probably put it on par with Jess Mauboy’s single ‘We Got Love’; a likeable dance/pop number that should suit the Eurovision audiences.
And SuRie’s no stranger to Eurovision competition, having performed back-up roles in 2015 and 2017.
Experience and a decent enough pop number? Neuf points. We don’t think the rest of Europe will see it in quite the same way, however.
