• Welcome to your ANZAC Day serve of The Purge, which we’re kicking off this morning with ‘Babe’, the new single from US country duo Sugarland. It’s the lead single from the band’s just-announced new album ‘Bigger’, which is due to land on Friday June 08. And to ensure their lead single hits, so they’ve enlisted the services of superstar Taylor Swift, who actually co-penned the track. It’s actually the only track on the new album not written by Sugarland themselves.
• Also on their way out to media in the last seven days are the new Busby Marou single ‘Sleep On It’, Billie Eilish and Khalid’s collaboration ‘Lovely’, along with the new singles from Liam Payne, Ariana Grande, Odette and Anne-Marie. Check over on our FACEBOOK page tomorrow afternoon for our regular, more comprehensive listing.
• US outfit The Chainsmokers are back with a new single. They’ve dropped their latest track ‘Somebody’, which follows on from their minor chart hits ‘Sick Boy’, ‘You Owe Me’ and ‘Everybody Hates Me’. All four tracks are featured on the ‘Sick Boy’ project which, we’re told by the boys’ label Sony, is an “ongoing building album” project.
• Hip hop performers Raekwon and Slick Rick will head down under in June for a co-headline tour that’s set to make stops in all five main capital cities. It’s Slick Rick’s first ever visit to our shores. The tour kicks off at The Back Room in Brisbane on June 01 before making stops at the Metro Theatre in Sydney (June 02), 170 Russell in Melbourne (June 03), Capitol in Perth (June 06) and HQ in Adelaide on June 07. General public tickets are on sale from 11am on Monday.
