Cher’s first Australian tour in 13 years has grown slightly today, with the addition of second shows in Sydney and Melbourne.
Tickets for the pop icon’s visit haven’t even gone on sale yet (that all happens tomorrow morning), but demand in our two most populous cities has been so great that organisers have made the call to add second dates before they do.
Cher will now roll out her hits at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on October 03 and 05 (the latter being the new show), along with Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on October 18 and 20 (again, the latter being the new show).
The music megastar was recently in the country to take part in the 40th anniversary celebrations for the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras.
“My visit to Sydney’s Mardi Gras reminded me how unique and beautiful Australia is,” Cher said in a statement. “It’s been 13 years since I toured there so I thought ‘let’s do it one more time’.”
General public tickets are on sale on tomorrow (May 18) at 10am local time for Sydney, Brisbane and Perth and 11am for Melbourne, Newcastle and Adelaide.
