Fresh from her win on the Chinese TV competition ‘Singer’, Jessie J will this week release four, yes FOUR new EPs.
Combined, the EPs make up an entire new album’s worth of material that form the ‘R.O.S.E.’ project.
The first taste of Jessie’s new music came back in September last year, with lead single ‘Think About That’. ‘Not My Ex’ followed in October, while ‘Queen’ dropped in November.
All three feature across the quartet of new EPs, the release of which will be staggered across this week.
Part one is ‘Realisations’ (cover art above), which features the ‘Oh Lord’ interlude, along with ‘Think About That’, ‘Dopamine’ and ‘Easy On Me’. It’s set for release tomorrow.
Part two is the ‘O’ component of the ‘R.O.S.E.’ release, the ‘O’ standing for ‘Obsessions’. It also contains four songs; ‘Real Deal’, ‘Petty’, ‘Not My Ex’ and ‘Four Letter Word’. And it’s due to land at digital service providers on Wednesday.
Thursday will see the release of the third part of the ‘R.O.S.E.’ EP series; the ‘S’ standing for ‘Sex’. Latest single ‘Queen’ features as part of this quartet of songs (heading ‘One Night Lover’, ‘Dangerous’ and ‘Play’) and now features its own music video, which dropped on Friday.
“The song ‘Queen’ is so much bigger than me,” Jessie explains. “The message it carries and the power the message has, has the potential to live on forever. I truly want as many women around the world to hear the song. To feel the lyric, to believe them, and to sing them OUT LOUD!!
“It was so important to me to have real women celebrated in the video. There is no better time than now to empower each other and lift each other up. I hope this video and song can help and remind any woman that she is beautiful and is a queen. All women are queen.” Watch the video here;
The ‘E’ part of the ‘R.O.S.E.’ EP stands for ‘Empowerment’ and that fourth and final part will drop on Friday to wrap the complete album project. It also features four songs; ‘Glory’, ‘Rose Challenge’ (interlude), ‘Someone’s Lady’ and ‘I Believe In Love’.
As mentioned, Jessie has enjoyed unprecedented success as the first ever international artist to compete in the Chinese television contest ‘Singer’.
She won the competition, the final of which was watched by a staggering one billion people across the country. Talk about expanding your audience.
