‘Mirror Mirror’ is the latest single from independent Aussie performer Nick De La Hoyde.
Though the track (and its music video) both dropped in May, it’s only now the story locally is starting to unravel.
And, as Nick reveals, it’s a deeply personal piece about not feeling comfortable with the image they see looking back at them.
“On the track I share my own insecurities too, so others can see that they’re not alone,” Nick says. “The song is very personal and came directly from my heart – there’s no filter on any of it.
Its subject matter fits beautifully with R U OK, the charity for which Nick is an ambassador.
“To be loved, to fit in, to be accepted for who we are and to feel comfortable in our own skin is something we all want,” he says.
“No one is perfect and that’s OK….our quirks and differences make us our own unique selves. Talking about these fears and insecurities with a trusted friend or family member can help us overcome them.”
