Introducing Gold Coast native Saint Barae, who, after a three year absence, has just dropped his delicious new single ‘Remains’.
The 22 year old’s latest tune deals with the issue of ‘ghosting’; when someone suddenly cuts all ties without a word.
“At its core it’s a honest look at the millennial dating experience,” Saint Barae explains. “While we have all this amazing technology that gives us the appearance of being connected, the older I get the easier it becomes to be isolated and estranged from the world in my own little bubble.
“The storyline of the song dissects the idea that ‘distance makes the heart grow fonder’ and explores how our romanticised idea of someone can easily be unravelled when change causes those happy feelings to turn into jealousy and bitterness.”
Incredible, he wrote, recorded the vocals for and co-produced the single all in one day.
As for the musical sphere in which it lays, think Troye Sivan, Years & Years et al and you’ll be right there in the ball park.
