Fresh from the release of their second album ‘I Know, But Where’ and after playing We The Fest in Indonesia alongside Lorde, Sza and Chet Faker, the band made a quick promotional stopover in Australia!
The band is a huge success in their homeland. Their album has been streamed over a million times, debuted at No.1 on the Singaporean charts and featured four singles, all of which have gone gold!
In fact, their breakout single ‘Take Heart’ has more than 1.6 million views on YouTube. For a country with a population of only 5.6 million, that’s quite impressive!
The band consists of siblings Benjamin and Narelle Kheng, along with their friends Sandra Riley and Jonathan Chua (the latter was actually born in Sydney).
You’ll get to know each of them as we play the ‘most likely’ game. For instance, who is most likely to be a teacher’s pet? Most likely to be loudest? Most likely to be a heartbreaker? Most likely to be a die in a zombie apocalypse?
After checking out their music I was highly impressed by the quality of it all. It’s a shame that they have gone unheard of for so long and would strongly recommend you check out their back catalogue including their singles ‘Keep Me Jealous’, ‘Save Myself’ and the rumoured new single ‘Thirsty’.
The Sam Willows’ album ‘I Know, But Where’ is out now and the band hope to come back to Australia to play a show in the not-too-distant future.
