Jai Waetford is well and truly back!
After placing third on ‘The X Factor’ in 2013 and featuring on evergreen Aussie soap ‘Neighbours’, Jai has returned with his new single ‘Friends’.
Jai describes his latest single (which was preceded by the two buzz singles ‘Lost In You’ and ‘Get Over’) as moving towards a darker, more urban direction. He also talks about falling into a trap of trying to be someone online, but that coming back to ‘bite them in the bum’.
The 19 year old has often been described the “Australian Justin Bieber” and even caught admiration from the man himself!
Mr Waetford was very open in our long chat – talking about his writing process, living in Campbelltown and his struggles with mental health.
He’s incredibly passionate about eliminating your ego and breaking the stigma of talking about such a serious topic – especially in men.
Jai also reveals that he expects to have a new single early in the year before releasing an EP and possibly embarking on a tour afterwards.
Right at the end of the video, we get to know Jai’s ‘favourite things’. Favourite fast food? Movie? Singer? Song of all time? Watch the video below to find out!
