We first featured Brisbane artist Phil Hancock on the site way back in August 2012.
Back then he’d just released his third ever single ‘Who We Fall For’.
In the ensuing years, we’ve featured him on a number of occasions and with each and every release, his powers for pop goodness have been slowly but surely getting stronger.
His latest single ‘H8U’, released on Friday, is a cracker.
Channelling the likes of Troye Sivan and Lauv, ‘H8U’ is a track that will give anyone who’s tackling with the breakdown of a relationship all of the feels.
“The songs I’m writing now are my own personal stories and I can’t see anyone else singing them,” he explains.
The story of “darkness and self-loathing”, however, is accompanied by a slinky bed of electronica.
Chin up, Phil… this track’s a beauty.
