Melbourne’s own Alice Ivy teams up with US performer Flint Eastwood to create one of the singles of the year; ‘Close To You’.
According to her publicists, the track came to be during a trip to Flint’s hometown of Detroit, which followed on from the pair’s initial meeting as part of the line-up at Falls Festival.
And what they’ve created is pretty darned magical, if we do say so ourselves.
It starts out as a cute-as-a-button indie-pop track with layer vocals and a simplistic beat.
But it’s when the beat drops and the chorus kicks in that ‘Close To You’ really comes into its own; unfurling into a glimmering, glorious synth-pop number. If we had one complaint… it feels like it ends too soon!
To celebrate the release of the track (listen below), Alice has announced she’s hitting the road for a national tour, tickets for which are on sale now.
