Well of all the songs we expected to see released today, the latest from UK pop star Will Young was probably the last.
But after a four year hiatus from music, Will’s back.
And not only does he drop his new single ‘All The Songs’ today, but he also confirms the upcoming release of his seventh studio album ‘Lexicon’ (cover art above).
It’s his first as an independent artist too, after he severed ties with Island Records following his 2015 long player ‘85% Proof’.
And it’s a return to straight-out pop for the affable performer here.
It feels like a slide back to the sublime electronic pop that his 2011 long player ‘Echoes’ (still our favourite WY record to date) served up.
As such, we’re kinda loving what Willy’s putting down here.
And we get to see quite a lot more of Will in the video for ‘All The Songs’ (below) than we’ve seen before. Very cheeky, Will Young… Very cheeky.
A warm welcome back.
