‘Me’ is the simple two letter title of the new Taylor Swift single, which dropped (alongside its video) this afternoon.
Details about the song, which features Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco fame on guest vocal duties, are scant, but it was penned by the pair, alongside Joel Little (Broods, Lorde etc). Joel and Taylor produced the single.
It’s the first piece of new music from Tay Tay since her 2017 album ‘Reputation’ and, going on the music video, is the antithesis of its predecessors.
Where lead single from ‘Reputation’, ‘Look What You Made Me Do’, was dark, menacing and broody, ‘Me’ is light, bright and breezy; a music video overflowing with pastels, tongue-in-cheek humour and smiles.
No doubt ‘Me’ will have those T-Swizzle purists, who fell in love with her during the ‘1989’ campaign, will be back on board here.
