A great start to the weekend for fans of 5 Seconds Of Summer, with the release of their latest single ‘Easier’.
The boys have been warmly welcomed back into the upper echelons of the ARIA chart, thanks to their recent smash hit ‘Youngblood’ and their collaboration with The Chainsmokers, ‘Who Do You Love’.
The former is now eight times platinum certified in Australia (that’s 560,000 unit sales). The latter is platinum, as is their top 40 collaboration with Julia Michaels, ‘Valentine’.
‘Easier’ marks the beginning of the boys’ next album project. And it’s a song that vocalist Luke Hemmings says is the band’s best so far.
“‘Easier’ is the most confident we have been in the first song to be released off one of our records,” he reveals. “Visually and sonically it feels like we took what we uncovered about ourselves as a band on the last album and honed in on that sound and aura. I truly believe that ‘Easier’ is the beginning of the best era for 5SOS.”
Calum Hood agrees. “This record is something we have subconsciously always needed to release. Accompanied by the euphoria and rawness of the video, ‘Easier’ is the best thing we’ve released yet.”
The music video (below) was filmed in and around Los Angeles and premiered on the boys’ YouTube channel late last night Australian time.
‘Easier’ is available now.
