Brisbane’s beloved Sheppard are politely extending their middle fingers to all the online trolls in their latest single ‘Kiss My Fat Ass’.
It’s an empowerment anthem; to all of us who’ve ever felt judged because of the way we look. Too fat, too thin, too short, too old… how’s about a big cup of STFU!
“I’ve spent years trying to hide my flaws, to get the right lighting, the right pose, the right outfits all so I could hide,” Amy Sheppard reveals in a statement.
“I’m an average sized 12 woman. The thing is, I’ve been labelled all throughout my life : “fat”, “too skinny”, “cellulite-y” even “a blob”. Worst of all, I’ve sprayed hate on myself. Sadly, I can’t say I have met a woman who hasn’t done the same.”
So here’s to ditching the good lighting, the selfie filters, the airbrushing and the fakery. Here’s to keeping it real. Here’s to Sheppard and their new single ‘Kiss My Fat Ass’.
