Former Sony starlet Dami Im has brightened up the weekend by dropping her ‘Crying Underwater’ music video.
As mentioned on-site recently, the track marks the beginning of a new chapter in the Queensland native’s career; she’s now a proudly independent artist. As such, this new single means a lot to her.
Written with Sydney producer Michael Tan, the song also features a message that delves into society’s reluctance to speak open and honestly about their feelings.
“There is so much pressure in today’s society to always look happy so we end up feeling like we’re not allowed to talk about how we really feel,” Dami explains. “Just like you’re crying underwater where no one can see you crying.”
Now the music video (below) adds another dimension to the work; it’s clear her transition to independence hasn’t diminished Dami’s ability to drop a quality clip.
