With her last single ‘Sunburn’ still emblazoned in our memory, Queensland artist Isabel Wood drops her latest scorcher, ‘Ghost 3AM’.
And it’s an incredibly personal piece that sees Isabel tackling the topic of a caustic, destructive person from her past.
“‘Ghost 3AM’ is by far the most vulnerable song I’ve ever written, which was scary at first, but it has also turned out to be my favourite,” she reveals. “I think a lot of people will be able to relate to it.”
Released today, the track has been produced by Xavier Dunn, who’s previously twiddled knobs for the likes of Jack River, Graace and the so-hot-right-now CXLOE. And Xavier even contributes some vocals to it.
“Xavier’s vocals were a great way to help tell the story from a male perspective,” explains Isabel. “Toxic relationships affect both men and women alike and it was important to me that I reflected that in the song.”
‘Ghost 3AM’ is available at DSPs today.
