Introducing The (fierce and fabulous) Merindas and their very tasty new single (and video) ‘Before Daylight’.
The former Perth natives (Candice Lorrae and Kristel Kickett) call Melbourne home these days, but they’re determined to shine a spotlight on Indigenous language and culture through their music.
And they do so in a spectacular way with their latest single ‘Before Daylight’ which, we’re told, is “inspired by a traditional Noongar dreaming story called ‘Bimban Born-Kissing Trees’.”
“‘Before Daylight’ is our first release that has a story of its own and is close to our hearts,” the ladies reveal.
“It’s taken on many shapes and forms over the years because we wanted it to be perfect. For us, it’s a strong representation of where we are now and how much we’ve both grown as artists and writers.
“We are so excited it’s finally being released into the world.”
As are we, ladies. As are we.
Evocative imagery, scintillating dance moves, tight pop melodies and pulsing beats are all here.
Catch it here… before the sun comes up.
