Brisbane’s Phoebe Sinclair has dropped her latest single ‘OMG’, an ode to owning up to mistakes and learning from them.
Released on Friday, the track brims with class and commercial appeal – as well as a seriously impressive vocal.
“I originally wrote ‘OMG’ in my driveway,” Phoebe reveals. “I had the idea to use a one-note melody for the phrase ‘oh my god’ surrounded with lyrics realising all the mistakes I’d been making. That chorus hook was one of the few things that stuck from the original version.
“After working with MDWS and my co-writing partner Lara Frew, we basically re-wrote the whole song two days before recording the final vocals. It was great having a chance to revisit the lyrics with the benefit of hindsight; being able to take ownership of what I’d done without having it define me like it might’ve while it was so fresh.”
Speaking of fresh… give ‘OMG’ a little listen right here;
