It’s turning out to be a rather delicious December for fans of Brisbane’s Cub Sport, with the release of not one, but three songs!
It’s all part of a new project, cleverly called ‘333’.
First cab off the rank is their new single ‘Heart In Halves’, a sumptuous sounding electro-pop track that dropped everywhere on Tuesday.
There’s another pre-Christmas treat coming next Tuesday in the form of ‘City Of Angels’ before the final treat (the instrumental ‘Air’) lands with us on Christmas Eve.
“’33’3 is made up of three songs that fit together to conjure a feeling of deep and healing euphoria,” lead singer Tim Nelson explains. “It sweeps you up in all-encompassing hypnotic sonics; the chordal and harmonic combinations feel like a pang in your chest – there are forces of beauty, sorrow, growth, pain and joy. It’s uplifting, renewing and feels good in a holistic way.
“This release feels very significant. It feels like it has the energy of a whole album – there’s a message and a feeling within these songs. It’s powerful, it’s palpable, it feels GOOD and that’s why it needed to exist.”
He’s right, you know… it DOES feel good. Press play on that there clip below if you don’t believe us.
