UK superstar Robbie Williams has confirmed that his one and only Australian show for 2020 will take place in Melbourne in March.
Robbie will perform at the Lakeside Stadium (adjacent to Melbourne’s Albert Park Pake) on Saturday March 14, the night before the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix.
“I am looking forward to getting down to Australia, it’s a place that is in my heart, I feel like an Aussie when I am there and if there’s an opportunity to get down there I grab it with both hands,” Robbie said in a statement.
But it won’t just be entertaining audiences in Rob’s thoughts. The current bushfire crisis is also front of mind.
“This is beyond a tragedy, it’s unfathomable what has happened, and what is happening, in Australia,” he says. “You see photographs of what’s actually happening, it can’t sink in, you can’t understand that, it’s beyond any reality that we’ve experienced before.
“I think it would be trite of me to send my love or condolences, I think it needs more.”
Organisers of the event have confirmed that they will be supporting fundraising efforts; more details to be revealed soon.
Tickets for Robbie’s one-off Melbourne show are on sale this Monday, January 20.
