Ahead of the release of her debut album ‘Look At Us Now Dad’ next week, Melbourne starlet Banoffee drops a ‘Contagious’ new single.
The track follows on from both ‘Count On You’ and ‘Tennis Fan’ and will feature alongside 11 other tracks on the new long player, which is due to drop next Friday (February 21).
The cracking pop number comes with an equally cracking music video which, we’re told, features her own mum’s nightgown, her brother’s motorbike and an old wedding dress.
As Banoffee explains, it all came together seriously quickly.
“The camaraderie that forms when you’re problem solving, and the late nights and laughable moments of complete ridiculousness combined together to create a piece of art we’re all really proud of,” she reveals.
“The video is about loneliness and the feelings of ostracisation that arise when your issues seem too much for the world to handle.
“It follows a woman roaming the landscape in a wedding dress, totally prepared to give herself up to something, yet completely alone and isolated by her sadness.
“The circles in the clip represent a safety zone, something I created for myself when I felt like I had to hide what I was going through in order to seem fit for love or friendship.”
‘Contagious’ is available digitally now. ‘Look At Us Now Dad’ drops next Friday.
