We don’t know what we like more about the new PLGRMS single ‘Disappear’… all the elements combine to create something very special.
Firstly, Jonathan Bowden’s production here is first rate, demonstrating both his ear for a great melody and an uncanny ability to craft the soundtrack so it balances effortlessly with Jacob Pearson’s vocal.
That vocal from Jacob is sublime; velvety smooth, luscious and rich.
The message behind the song? “You want to take the first step, dive towards something new, but it’s so easy being resistant to change,” they explain. “Sometimes almost drowning is what it takes for us to learn how to swim.”
And the black and white music video (below) looks like it may have been lifted from the pages of a Herb Ritts photographic album.
‘Disappear’ is a case of all the elements combining to create something very, very special.
