Brisbane’s Sheppard have dropped ‘Come Back’, the fourth in series of tracks they’re dropping monthly throughout 2020.
And if ever there was a song for the times, this is it; dealing with loneliness and isolation.
Though the track was penned by George Sheppard last year while cooped up in a Swedish hotel room, the emotions correlate with what many of us are experiencing right now, thanks to Covid-19 lockdowns across the world.
“There’s definitely a strong parallel between being in a band, isolated in a hotel room somewhere without contact to the people you care about, and being locked in your home, unable to spend time with family and friends,” George explains.
“Ultimately, ‘Come Back’ is a song of support, unconditional love, and serves as a reminder to us all that although times are tough right now and clouds are darkening your skies, as long as we’re there for one another we’ll break through to the sunlight again.”
As previously mentioned, Sheppard have committed to releasing one new song every month between now and the end of the year, culminating in an album release.
‘Come Back’ is the fifth track from the project, which is also set to include their late 2019 release ‘Die Young’.
