Remember those care-free days of childhood? So does Brisbane artist Katanak and he aims to ‘Take Us Back’ on his latest single.
We first got to know the performer in one of our features last September (HERE) and featured him again when he dropped his sophomore single ‘Astronomy’ in February (HERE).
With Covid-19 curtailing our outdoor adventures at the moment, the timing of the new single couldn’t be more perfect.
“‘Take Us Back’ is about having fun with my mates when we were kids,” Katanak explains. “And the film clip has captured the great energy of those carefree times.”
That video clip was produced as part of a Brisbane City Council initiative called The QUBE Effect, which aims to nurture and champion up and coming Queensland talent.
“It has provided an amazing opportunity and I learnt so much working with Karl Bouro and Aaron Iselin from Torn Parachute to turn my vision for ‘Take Us Back’ into reality,” he says.
“This process of having the video clip released first with the song following later is the reversal of how music is usually released, but it’s working really well because people are finding my music via the clip and then heading over to their preferred music platform.”
The clip dropped two weeks ago (see below); the single drops digitally today.
