Sydney performer Chris Sebastian has won the 2020 season of Channel 9’s evergreen reality show ‘The Voice’.
He beat out Team George’s Siala Robson, Team Guy’s Johnny Manuel and Team Delta’s Stellar Perry to win the contest.
In doing so, he pockets a cool $100,000 cash, as well as a recording contract with EMI Music, who are thrilled to have him on board.
“A huge congratulations to Chris on his great win in tonight’s Grand Finale of ‘The Voice’ 2020,” EMI Australia Managing Director John O’Donnell said in a statement. “What an incredible talent. We are thrilled to welcome Chris to the EMI roster and congratulate him and all the artists who made it through to the Grand Finale.”
Chris wowed the judges with a performance of the Nick Jonas track ‘Jealous’ in the blind auditions back on May 25 and has belted out fan favourites throughout the competition.
Some of those favourites will be brought together for a new CD compilation called ‘The Complete Collection’ (cover art pictured above), which will land at retailers on Friday August 07.
It features Chris’s original single ‘Bed For 2’, which dropped last week, along with his versions of Linkin Park’s ‘Numb’, Charlie Puth’s ‘Attention’ and Bruno Mars’ ’24K Magic’.
Though the CD might not land until August 07, it’s available at digital retailers now.
