Sydney trio Sinclaire take us above the clouds thanks to their gorgeous new single ‘Let’s Fly To Rome’.
Of course, we can’t fly to Rome at the moment, but it’s got us dreaming of those exciting long, international journeys filled with unimaginable adventures.
According to frontman Michael Cross, ‘Let’s Fly To Rome’ is about “about wanting to escape from normality with somebody special. It’s a euphoric daydream fueled by love, sporadic decisions and a complete disregard for rational thinking.
“When I wrote the song I had feelings for a girl who lived in another city,” he adds. “I sat down and pictured packing my things and leaving my repetitive day-to-day life to go on this grandiose adventure with her.
“Sadly, the distance eventually caused us to drift apart… but back then we spent many late nights on the phone talking about a world of ‘what-ifs’ where we could run away and be together.”
‘Let’s Fly To Rome’ is also packed with ’80s influences, including warped keys and a driving beat that’ll have you wishing you could head straight to the nearest airport and embark on an amazing adventure.
In the meantime, it’ll do nicely for the next trip to the coast.
