Sydney duo Maari return with a fresh new earworm called ‘Bad Omen’.
We’ve been lucky enough to partner with Bronte and Dom previously to premiere their singles ‘HeartBreaker’ (January 2018) and ‘That Summer’ (March 2019).
And on both occasions, they served up delicious aural treats dripping with style.
Their new single ‘Bad Omen’, released today, continues that trend.
Its lyrics tell the story of a long gone wrong, a partner whose lies and deceit can no longer be tolerated.
“The lyrics in this song are more cutthroat and sharp than any song we’ve released,” the pair reveal. “It was meant to be an empowering ‘let go’ track for those ending their own toxic relationships, so it was written to feel bold and confident.”
You can hear that sharpness and boldness seething in Bronte’s vocal delivery here, but it’s juxtaposed against a super light, bubbly bed of glossy pop production.
‘Bad Omen’ is out now.
