There’s a heck of a lot to like about ‘Over U’, the latest single from Melbourne-based performer Chris Watts.
Chris is managed by the same guy who also represents auspOp favourites Carla Wehbe and CXLOE, so you know he’s ready to deliver the goods.
‘Over U’ reminds us a little of Rachel Stevens’ most excellent noughties nugget ‘Some Girls’, what with its pulsing baseline and dark and sexy production.
And, of course, the lyrics are bang on point; detailing the demise of a relationship.
“You’re four months out after having your heart completely broken. You’re in that limbo stage where you know you have to move on but it’s way easier to just romanticise the past and to not get ‘over them’,” Chris explains.
“You might even find yourself ‘accidentally’ waking up in their bed once again, having just undone all the progress you’ve made to move on. This song is your four month break-up wake-up call! Got to move on.”
Like the output from his stablemates, Chris could comfortably take his place among some of the hottest chart stars in the world with this release.
It’s great to have him back on the pages of auspOp.
