Hot on the heels of the release of her debut EP ‘Half Past Nine’ last month, auspOp favourite Carla Wehbe dropped by for a chat about it.
The new five tracker featured singles ‘Don’t Tell Me’, ‘Love Me For Me’ and ‘Somebody Loves You’, all of which found a home on the airwaves of our national broadcaster, Triple J.
In a 17 minute interview with our new host Elise, Carla opens about having social anxiety and delivers a heart-felt message of acceptance, love and positivity.
Carla also talks about writing the single ‘Dont Tell Me’, which is based on an unwanted encounter in a club in Los Angeles, during which an older guy asked, “Would it kill you to smile?”. She doubled down on this moment and has featured the lyric ‘Yes it would kill me to smile’, along with merch to support it.
Naturally, there’s plenty more to get your pop chops into during the video chat, so press play below and support some cracking Aussie music.
