Brisbane duo Alta Falls kick off our Friday proceedings with their dreamy new single ‘Sun In My Eyes’.
Dreamy musically, yes. But encased within the slinky shell of glossy pop production lies a painful tale of loss.
“(It’s) about a long distance relationship, where one of our mates had a girlfriend who left Brisbane to start a new job,” Nat and Matt explain. “They stayed together for a while, but eventually it ended when she left him for someone else.
“The song’s about how painful that experience was for him, and the feeling of losing your special someone forever.”
It’s the duo’s third ever single, following on from their April debut ‘Take Me On Down’ and the follow-up, June’s ‘Into You’. And it gives us another glimpse into the world of their upcoming debut EP, which we’re hoping will land before the year’s out.
‘Cause when pop’s this good, they can’t possibly keep us waiting.
