British pop act Years & Years has confirmed the upcoming release of their third studio album ‘Night Call’.
Though the band is now ostensibly an Olly Alexander solo project, it has achieved a decent amount of success on the mainstream charts, particularly in its native UK.
As a trio, they peaked at No.1 with their debut album ‘Communion’ back in 2015 and followed that up with a No.3 peak for their sophomore record ‘Palo Santo’ in 2018.
Olly’s certainly not been idle over the past few years, duetting with Elton John on a new version of the Pet Shop Boys classic ‘It’s A Sin’ and starring in the critically acclaimed TV series of the same name.
Now, however, it’s back to the Years & Years project, with a new album and a just-released new single called ‘Crave’.
“‘Crave’ is a playful way of inhabiting the deranged sexual energy I’ve always wanted,” Olly explains. “In the past I felt like I’ve been dominated by toxic relationships and I felt like it would be fun to turn it on its head.”
It’s a dance pop gem that whets our appetite for the arrival of the full album ‘Night Call’, which will land at retailers globally on Friday January 07.
